Kerrits: From Swimsuits to Saddles
The story of Kerrits began not in a stable, but on a beach. In 1986, founder Kerri Kent was an avid windsurfer frustrated by poorly designed swimsuits. Taking matters into her own hands, she started crafting her own activewear in Hood River, Oregon. Her designs quickly gained a following among fellow athletes who valued high-quality, functional sportswear.
A Shift from Surf to Saddle
This commitment to creating better gear for active women caught the attention of an equestrian company. Recognizing a similar need in the riding world, Kent was asked to design a line for women who shared her other passion: horses. This marked the beginning of Kerrits Performance Equestrian Apparel. The brand's philosophy remained the same: create apparel that fits well and works as hard as the person wearing it.
Innovative Apparel for Every Season
Today, Kerrits equestrian clothing is known for its innovative use of technical fabrics and rider-focused design. Products like the Kerrits Ice Fil Tights and the Summer Ride Ice Fil® Short Sleeve Shirt are engineered to keep riders cool and comfortable during warm weather. For colder months, Kerrits fleece-lined breeches provide warmth without restricting movement. Every piece of Kerrits clothing, from their popular riding pants to their durable winter breeches, is crafted with input from a global community of riders. This ensures that the apparel meets the real-world demands of life in and out of the saddle, offering a blend of confidence, ease, and reliable performance.
