Almost Perfect for Me
I was looking for a tall-top boot with a plain toe and lower heel that I could dress up or down that was also budget-friendly. This boot fit that bill for me in almost every way. They've taken a while to break in which is more related to my feet than the boots. I've worn these with jeans and suit pants and they look good with both. The toe is definitely a square toe, so if you want a rounder toe this is not your boot. Also, due to the thicker construction of the shaft and it being designed to have one's jeans/trousers tucked into the top for western reenactment purposes, narrower pant legs will not fit over these! I cinched the tops through the pull straps with velcro strips, which helps with straight leg jeans, but jeans and pants that are boot-cut or a wider cut work best to avoid the boot tops printing through if that matters to you. These would have a 5 from me if not for these minor issues.
