A concentric ring opens the case mouth slightly larger than the bullet diameter to enhance bullet alignment. The final taper can provide a "bellmouth" on the case mouth when desired, usually when using lead bullets. A newly designed expander die with the Redding plug coated in Titanium Nitride adds surface hardness, lubricity, and durability. The TiN coating also reduces brass build-up on the expander as well.
