The Talley 730714 rings are one-piece unitized mounts, not traditional two-piece ring-and-base combinations. That distinction matters. The ring and base are one continuous piece, so there's no interface to shift, loosen, or fall out of alignment after hard use.

The material is 7000 series aluminum alloy, extruded and then precision CNC machined to final dimensions. That process produces a mount that's stronger than most steel rings while coming in lighter. At 0.500 inch height, these rings sit as close to the bore as practical for most standard objective lenses.
