Product Info for WILLIAMS WGRS-54 Receiver Peep Sight
Upgrade your rimfire rifle’s accuracy with the WILLIAMS WGRS-54 Receiver Peep Sight. Meticulously crafted from a high-tensile aluminum alloy that is stronger than many steels, this peep sight provides an ultra-durable, rustproof sighting solution without adding unnecessary bulk to your receiver. Fully adjustable for both windage and elevation, the WGRS-54 features positive locking controls to ensure your zero remains rock-solid through heavy field use and repeated vibrations.
Designed for maximum adaptability, this rear sight slides smoothly onto existing receiver dovetail tracks, offering a streamlined mechanical setup for serious target shooters and small-game hunters alike.
The hands-on versatility of the mounting base is the engineering detail that stands out most. Because .22 rifle factory receiver dovetails often feature varying dimensional tolerances, this sight is optimized to allow for easy, minor hand-fitting. Simply filing the bottom of the sight base slightly can effortlessly widen the dovetail interface for a flawless, custom-tight friction fit on your specific receiver.
Because peep sights rest lower to the receiver line than traditional open sights, pairing this unit with a higher front sight — such as a Williams Shorty or Streamlined ramp — is an excellent way to maintain a perfect, natural cheek weld and a flat point-of-impact.
Frequently Asked Questions
- Which specific rifle models does the WGRS-54 model directly support?
This model is optimized for Savage-Anschutz 54, 64, 141, 141M, 153, and 153S models, as well as the Remington 541S and Winchester 310, 320, and 9422 rifles. - Will I need to change my front sight after installing this rear peep sight?
Yes, in many cases, a taller front sight is required to balance the lower optical alignment. Utilizing a Williams Shorty or Streamlined front ramp with a beaded sight tip will easily resolve any elevation discrepancy. - Does this aperture sight require drilling and tapping into the receiver?
No, the WGRS-54 does not require gunsmith drilling or tapping. It is engineered to slide directly into the pre-existing dovetail grooved rails located on top of standard .22 caliber rifle receivers.

Williams WGRS-54 Receiver Peep Sight
Have owned this before. Purchased this for one rifle but it didn't fit so I tried it on another and it fit just fine. The only downside is that there are no indicatiors for windage movement, so you don't know if you've actually moved it the small amount you want/need until you shoot it again.
