The LEUPOLD QRW /PRW Two-Piece Base, Remington - 700 Matte (49841) is every bit as rugged and dependable as the Leupold optics it's intended to secure. Leupold offers a complete line of steel detachable accuracy mounts that are based on the familiar cross-slot design. The Leupold Quick Release Weaver stlye (QRW) and Permanent Weaver style (PRW) are a cross bolt design that is extremely secure.
The QRW/PRW Mounting System uses an adjustable double-lever mechanism to lock the rings securely into the base. You simply rotate the levers to achieve a lock. The spring-loaded levers can be "parked" by pulling each lever out, disengaging it from the locking screw. This allows you to adjust the levers to the desired position. Then, just release the levers back into the spring.
