Product Info for SIG SAUER TANGO-MSR LPVO Coyote Riflescope SOTM61200

The Sig Sauer TANGO-MSR LPVO scope is high-quality, low power variable optic, second focal plane (SFP) scope with Illuminated BDC6 reticle. It is designed for precision shooting, tactical engagements, and long-range hunting on MSR platforms. With 1-6x magnification and 24mm objective lens, it offers confident target acquisition.

What Is an LPVO? Why Do Modern Shooters Love Them?

If you've been browsing optics lately, you will have seen "LPVO" keep popping up. LPVO stands for Low Power Variable Optic, usually something like 1x magnification (no zoom) to 6x, 10x, or more.

Essentially, the magic of an LPVO lies in solving one of the biggest problems with one-size-fits-all scopes. Most shooters don't shoot miles away, but they don't need close-up magnification either. Low power allows you speed at range. Higher power allows you precision at a distance. The beauty of an LPVO is that you have both in one optic.

When you're looking through your LPVO at 1x magnification, it functions just like a red dot sight. Everything you see in your sight picture is unobstructed, your field of view is wide, and you can acquire targets faster than any other optic on the market. Pump it up to 6x, and you have enough magnification to make precise shots at mid-range and beyond, without the bulk and weight of a heavier scope.

SIG SAUER tapped into this idea when they designed their TANGO-MSR series. Specifically built for Modern Sporting Rifles (MSRs) — think AR-15 platforms and other semi-auto rifles — LPVOs provide exactly what you need: versatility.

Designed for Modern Rifle Platforms

The TANGO-MSR LPVO isn't a glorified hunting scope with a turret removed for tactical use. These optics are engineered specifically for rifle platforms that require fast target acquisition at close ranges with the ability to spread out at distance.

Featuring:

  • 1-6x Magnification: You have enough magnification to make super accurate shots, but not so much that you sacrifice speed at 1x.
  • 24mm Objective Lens: Big enough to give you a bright image, small enough to keep your optic balanced.
  • Illuminated MSR BDC-6 Reticle: BDC means bullet drop compensator. This multicolored reticle has special markings that make it easy to estimate distance and holds for shooting at longer ranges with common ammo you're likely to load in your MSR. Don't like the reticle illuminated? No problem, dial it down or turn it off completely.
  • Second Focal Plane (SFP) Reticle: When you adjust the magnification, the reticle size adjusts with it. In the case of SFP reticles, this means the reticle is meant to be used at the highest magnification. At 1x, just center your shot for close targets.

Why the TANGO-MSR Stands Out

Integrated Mounting Solution. Save yourself the headache of making sure a certain mount will fit with your optic. The included ALPHA-MSR mount is specifically machined to fit this scope. Cantilever mounts are super precise because they are attached to the optic, not your rifle.

BDC Reticle Designed For Common Loadings. Not just any reticle, this ballistic-compensated reticle is designed with common MSR loadings in mind. Hold center at close range, and use the bullet holdover marks for longer shots. No fancy calculations needed for bread-and-butter shooting scenarios.

Fast Magnification Changes. Slide (not click) the built-in lever to quickly change magnification. Engage 1x for speed or crank it up to 6x when you need a little help steadying that aim. Point being, you don't have to take your hands off the rifle or your eye off the target to make quick magnification changes.

Low-Light Performance. Low-light performance starts with the glass. Fully multicoated glass keeps all that available light entering through the objective lens from bouncing around inside the optic. The added illuminated reticle gives you one more tool for low-light shooting.

Real-World Applications

Do you think your modern rifle platform only sees targets at one distance? Because hunting and real-world scenarios rarely happen like that. With the TANGO-MSR, you have the ability to knock over close targets fast, but if that 100-yard deer steps out, you've got that covered too.

  • 3-Gun and Tactical Competition: If you're competing and shooting an AR platform, you'll appreciate everything this optic has to offer. From the low end of the magnification range, to the included mount, to the BDC reticle optimized for common AR ballistics.
  • Precision Rifle: Precision shooters who prefer MSR platforms will find a lot to like with this optic. The illuminated reticle gives you just one more tool for those tough shots.
  • Training: Shooters who are training themselves to handle targets at various ranges will benefit from practicing with one optic that covers the whole range.

What You Get with the TANGO-MSR 1-6x

When you buy this scope, you're not just buying another company's "me-too" attempt at cashing in on the LPVO trend. SIG SAUER has spent decades making rifles and optics for military and law enforcement professionals. They know what they're doing, and you can see it in the fit and finish of this product.

Buy it for speed and close-range capability. Buy it for easy mid-range precision. Buy the SIG SAUER TANGO-MSR 1-6x LPVO when you want quality you can feel.

FAQ

Q: What's the difference between a 1-6x and a 1-4x LPVO?
A: Simply put, the extra magnification gives you an extended useful range. A 1-4x will handle just about any situation from 25-200 yards without issue. If you're looking to shoot farther than that without switching optics, the 1-6x will let you do that.

Q: Can I use this on a hunting rifle?
A: Absolutely. There's nothing special about the reticle or magnification range that makes this strictly a "tactical" optic. It'll serve you just as well hunting medium to larger game.

Q: Is the reticle illumination too bright for daytime shooting?
A: With 11 brightness settings, you can dial in an illumination strength that's visible in the brightest conditions. Most hunters and shooters set their illumination between levels 7-9 in daylight.

Q: Do I have to buy a separate mount for this?
A: No separate mount required! It comes with the ALPHA-MSR mount, which will fit any Picatinny rail on your rifle.

Q: What kind of battery does it use? How long will it last?
A: It uses a CR2032 battery. Depending on how bright you set your illumination level, you'll get several months to a year or more out of one battery. Like most shooters, you'll probably replace yours once a year during your annual maintenance.

Q: Is this a good optic for distance hunting?
A: This magnification range lends itself perfectly to under 300-yard hunting situations. If you plan on shooting a lot of long-range quarry, you might consider a more traditional rifle scope with higher magnification abilities.

Q: How durable is this scope?
A: As mentioned above, SIG SAUER makes optics for military and law enforcement. These are held to high standards, which means the TANGO-MSR will withstand recoil and harsh conditions. It's sealed, purged, and fogproof.

    SIG Lpvo Coyote Brown

Posted by Landon M on Sep 2nd 2025

It’s a slick lpvo. Eye relief is a little tight but field of view is pretty clear. Definitely worth the price I got it at! Came quick which makes it even better purchase.

    Good scope

This Sig gets the job done. Eye relief is tight but manageable, field of view is pretty good for what I paid.

    Great scope

Posted by Allen Colburn on Jan 8th 2025

Shipping and purchasing was great. Only thing is that the scope says coyote tan, but the scope is clearly brown when it arrived. I have a coyote tan/bronze rifle, so it doesn’t quite set right.
