We all love casual sneakers for comfort, style, and sensibility. Nonetheless, nothing is perfect, and, with all respect, sneakers are not all-around footwear. Yes, they may fill most of your needs, but isn’t it good to have several types of shoes for different occasions? Hiking shoes for backpacking, casual sneakers for city strolling, waterproof boots for work, and lightweight, flexible perforated shoes for short summer travels.
If you’re not a fashion geek or a footwear maker, you’ve probably never heard of Ilse Jacobsen. Well, let us tell you about the brand and what products it manufactures.
Ilse Jacobsen Footwear
Feel the Scandinavian vibes already? Ilse Jacobsen is a Danish brand focused on manufacturing footwear and clothing for summer, with its flaming sun succeeding with heavy rains. Not to say that it doesn’t produce winter boots - it does. But the prime categories are rain boots and lightweight shoes.
Being a creative person, Ilse Jacobsen has always wanted to craft something that stands out. She opened her first store in 1993 to make quality non-PVC rain boots for the Hornbaek people. Hornbaek is a pretty rainy place, so everyone had PVC boots. However, most designs were dull, and Ilse wanted to change that. That’s how she came up with stylish lace rain boots in different colors. The boots used natural rubber mixed with a secret ingredient almost half-and-half.
The Ilse Jacobsen rain boots became very popular, and the company quickly began to diversify into clothing and shoes.
Ilse Jacobsen Shoes for Sale
At Gritr Outdoors, we stock an array of Ilse Jacobsen shoes, from lightweight flats to ankle winter boots. If you need feather-like casuals, have a look at the Ilse Jacobsen Tulip series of flats and sneakers. The flats have the upper made of recycled microfiber and the sole sewn to it with recycled thread. Ilse Jacobsen sneakers are mesh and microfiber, which make them suitable for hot weather. We also carry Ilse Jacobsen flip-flops for those who want their footwear to cover the least of their feet.
