The company was initially a friends' endeavor, and it took several years for the integral idea to be born. The active history of Umpqua began in 1972, and the founders’ initial goal was simple yet highly ambitious: to bring the highest quality flies from the country's best tyers to local fly shops. The North Umpqua River served as a venue for the company’s humble beginnings - the fact that is captured in the brand name. Over the last 50 years, Umpqua changed the way the fly fishing industry scaled and grew. It became the company that is responsible for the most innovations in fly fishing in the last 25 years. The company’s product line expanded to include fly fishing accessories: boxes, tools, and packs. 

Umpqua Fly Boxes

It would have been shortsighted of a company to produce fishing flies without corresponding containers. But Umpqua are masters of their trade and thus developed several lines of fly boxes. On this page, you can find the latest Umpqua UPG fly box collection. The flexible design combines a variety of features one might seek in a fly box. The TPE injection molding makes the box extremely durable, temperature resistant, and waterproof. The 3D molded high-grip storage system can house an impressive range of dries and nymphs.    

Umpqua Packs

You know where to store flies, but what about fly boxes themselves? Umpqua produces a wide range of packs with different attachment styles. The Umpqua waist pack features a stiff and well-padded back panel and waist belt for maximum comfort and can hold as many as four large fly boxes. The Umpqua sling pack is a more compact and minimalistic version of the previous pack that mounts across the shoulders and can hold two fly boxes in the main compartment. If you find a chest pack more comfortable, Umpqua can fulfill that request as well. We have two best-selling models: the Umpqua ZS2 Rock Creek chest pack and Umpqua Overlook 500 chest pack.
