A solid reel for light tackle techniques, the Spirex FG is also a beneficiary of much of Shimano's technology designed to combat inherent issues with the genereal spinning reel design, such as line twist and line friction. The Propulsion Line Management System and Varispeed Oscillation ensure even line lay and that line twist and friction are no longer a problem. In addition to these features and many others, the Dyna-Balance system eliminates wobble during the retrieve by counterbalancing the rotor and the Aluminum Spool uses Shimano's cold forging technology, maintaining the metal's original strength without sacrificing molecular density. The end result is a spinning reel with excellent castability and line manageability along with some familiar baitcast finishes.
