The story of Swany is that of two roads converging into one path unstoppable in its aspiration to lead travelers to their destinations. In 1980, Swany Corporation, headquartered in Japan, founded the American branch to improve service quality and launch a new line of gloves called Freezy Freakies. The color-changing gloves remained the most popular children’s gloves in the USA for about a decade. Meanwhile, the company acquired a small dress and glove manufacturer Elmer Little & Sons in 1987. Bill Dzierson, the owner of the company, was a skiing enthusiast who recognized the need for warmer and more robust ski gloves. At his initiative, the Swany Ski Division was formed.
The company made a bid for quality at the expense of affordability. With prices twice as high as their competitors, Swany needed to take a different path to win over customers. They partnered with Professional Ski Instructors of America and the National Ski Patrol to supply gloves. After a few more successful collaborations, Swany gloves finally made it to the top. The company introduced several innovative designs, including Swany Toaster Mittens and Flexor Gloves. Today, Swant has over 30 years of experience up their sleeve and a presence in thousands of retail stores around the globe. Their product line became more inclusive, with goods varying from extremely affordable gloves to top-tier models.
