While the 'typical' DR970X front dash cams act as the main recording unit, the DR970X-BOX recording unit is actually a separate lock-protected "box". Designed to function like the black box in an airplane, the box can be securely stowed away in a glove compartment, under the dashboard or under a seat for maximum stealth and security. The FRONT and REAR cameras connect to the box via coaxial cables and have been completely redesigned with stealth and security in mind.
The upgrades don't stop there, the new PLUS series is designed to push 4K recording to the next level with an unprecedented amount of detail. The heart of this upgrade is in the newly integrated Sony STARVIS 2 image sensor, which utilizes proprietary technology to simultaneously adjust both dark and bright areas, ensuring a perfectly balanced and detailed image, no matter the environment.
