The Sustain Spinning Reel is packed with a long list of high-end features which translates to serious performance. From bass to small billfish, Sustain is built with the power and rigidity to handle a wide variety of fishing challenges while maintaining the refinement and light rotation that Sustain is known for. By combining water-repellent coating and our specially designed, water channeling, labyrinth construction, X Protect provides high-level water resistance without sacrificing light gear and rotor rotation. By utilizing the asymmetrical, super-light, perfectly balanced design of the new Magnumlite Rotor, the Sustain requires very low inertia to start rotating, resulting in an immediate, light, smooth feel.

X-protect Water Resistance

New Stella incorporates non-contact X-Protect The combination of water resistance and labyrinth structure provides performance that resists hydraulic pressure without impairing smooth reeling. X-Protect utilized on the line roller and roller clutch, improving line roller durability five times over the existing model.

G Free Body

Developed to shift the reel's centre of gravity closer to the rod. This has been achieved by moving the worm shaft oscillation mechanism 19mm from the bottom of the reel to the top. By moving the centre of gravity closer to the anglers hand position, the G Free Body helps to reduce fatigue and enhance casting comfort.

ARC Spool

Shimano ARC Spool is a patented spool design with an angled spool lip. This design enables the line to leave the spool with less friction and in smaller coils resulting in longer more accurate casts. ARC spools are proven to reduce backlash and wind knots when using braid.

Rigid Support Drag

Rigid Support Drag eliminates spool movement and wobble, ewven at light drag settings. The result is incredibly smooth drag even at extremely light settings.

X-Ship

X-Ship provides improved gear durability. Supported on both ends with bearings, the pinion gear maintains precise alignment with the drive gear. This means the gears will stay in the same position under the heaviest loads. The added benefit is that friction between the spool shaft and gear are eliminated. This will enhance the casting performance, especially with lighter lure, and allow for longer casts.

S ARB

Shimano S ARB bearings are high corrosion resistant ARB ball bearings with an extra shield for improved protection against sand, salt or dust.
